Fences for home

Residential Fencing:
styles & options.

A fence is more than a line around the lot. The right layout needs to leave room for the lawn mower, everyday foot traffic, landscaping and the parts of the view you want to keep. We install and replace residential fencing around those priorities, not just a material name.

Four materials. A fence that fits your life.

Start with the job the fence needs to do, then compare the look and layout. A backyard privacy line, an open pool-area boundary and a practical pet enclosure call for different conversations.

Wood fencing

Explore a natural-looking privacy fence, pickets or an open rail-and-wire layout. Bring the top profile and finishing details you like, along with the views you want to screen.

Aluminum fencing

Consider an open-picket design when keeping the yard or landscape in view is part of the goal. Plan the panel layout, gates and any pool-related requirements together.

Vinyl fencing

Compare solid privacy with more open styles. Your proposal should identify the actual panel system, color, height, gate construction and the components that complete the fence.

Chain-link fencing

Discuss an enclosure for the backyard, a separate dog area or a longer property boundary. Specify the finish, height, openings and access rather than choosing on footage alone.

01

Privacy from the places you actually use

Look from the patio, kitchen window and neighboring side of the yard. A fence that screens a seated area may not change an elevated view. Identify what you want hidden and what you want to keep open before deciding on a style or height.

02

Plan the openings before the fence line

Think through people, pets, lawn equipment, trash bins and future landscaping work. Mark the openings you use now and those you might need later. A walk gate and a larger equipment opening can serve different purposes; include each in the initial layout rather than adding them after the fence is planned.

03

Replacement is a chance to fix the layout

Do you want the same boundary, or a better use of the yard? Review old sections to remove, sections to keep, transitions to a neighbor’s fence and access during the work. An existing fence is not a substitute for confirming your property boundaries or the approvals needed for a new design.

A useful estimate starts here

What shapes your
project cost?

The right comparison is the complete scope, not a one-size-fits-all price. These are the details to bring into your free estimate.

Length and height

Measure the proposed runs separately and include returns around side yards.

Material and design

Identify the actual style, finish and selected system you want quoted.

Gates and access

Count every opening and describe what needs to fit through it.

Removal and site work

Include the old fence, obstructions and any limited access to the work area.

Have a photo and a rough idea?

That is enough to start. Tell us what you want to change and where you are building.

Before we get started

A few good questions.

Can you help me choose a fence material?

Yes. Tell us how much privacy you want, the look you prefer and what maintenance you are comfortable with. We can discuss wood, aluminum, vinyl and chain-link options.

Can a new fence include a matching gate?

Yes. Include the number of openings, their intended use and any width requirements in your inquiry. Gate layout is part of the project conversation.

Do you replace existing fences?

Yes. Tell us what is there now and whether removal, a new layout or a different material is part of your plan.

Can I use different materials on different sides of the yard?

Discuss a mixed layout if the street-facing side, backyard and less-visible boundary serve different purposes. The estimate should show where each material begins and ends, how the transitions work and whether community rules allow the combination.

What should I compare between two fence estimates?

Compare the same layout, height, material, number of gates, removal work and finishing scope. Ask what is included, what is excluded and whether the proposal accounts for the actual site rather than just a total length.

Can you help plan a fence around my dog?

Tell us about your dog’s size and behavior, not just the breed. Discuss gate latches, openings beneath the fence and any existing escape points. The proposed design should be reviewed for your particular pet and yard; no fence should be treated as a substitute for supervision.
