Vinyl fence options

Vinyl Fencing:
styles & options.

A vinyl project needs coordinated panels, posts, gates and hardware. Start with your goals and the style you want to see from the patio or street. The actual product, finish, layout and any manufacturer coverage should be identified in your project proposal rather than assumed from an inspiration photo.

Privacy, profile and a coordinated finish.

Look beyond the color of the panel. Compare the amount of screening, the top detail, the posts and the gate as one complete design.

Style images are design references. Availability, dimensions, colors and suitability are confirmed for your project.

01

Full privacy

Solid infill creates a visual screen. Compare panel height, color, post caps and matching gate construction.

Semi-privacy style illustration
02

Semi-privacy

Spaced infill creates a more open pattern. Check how the layout looks from different angles before choosing it for privacy.

Spindle top style illustration

Spindle top

An open decorative band sits above the privacy section. Compare the proportions and the selected product’s available colors.

Lattice top style illustration
04

Lattice top

A lattice accent breaks up the top of a privacy fence. Review the lattice pattern, panel frame and gate details together.

Open picket style illustration
05

Open picket

An open top and spaced pickets frame the yard without a solid screen. Consider spacing and access for the way the yard is used.

Scalloped picket style illustration
06

Scalloped picket

A shaped top line adds a repeating curve. Plan corners and gates so the pattern feels deliberate across the full run.

Closed picket style illustration
07

Closed picket

A top rail frames the pickets for a more defined profile. Confirm the exact panel and post details rather than relying only on a photo.

08

Post and rail

An open rail design defines a boundary while retaining views. Discuss any added containment needs separately from the rail appearance.

01

Choose a system, not just a color

Ask the estimate to identify the manufacturer or product line, panel style, posts, caps and reinforcement details included in the proposed work. Review the available color choices and actual samples where possible. A photo is useful for direction, but it should not be treated as a promise of an exact product or color.

02

Account for the property’s changes in level

Review slopes, corners and the places where the fence meets a building or another material. Ask how the chosen panels will be laid out and what the bottom edge will look like. Gate openings deserve particular attention where the ground rises or changes near the swing.

03

Think about gates and future component matching

Include the gate width, swing and hardware in the original scope. For an existing vinyl fence, keep any product information you have and photograph the damaged component from more than one angle. A repair needs compatible parts and a review of the surrounding construction, not just a close color match.

A useful estimate starts here

What shapes your
project cost?

The right comparison is the complete scope, not a one-size-fits-all price. These are the details to bring into your free estimate.

Selected product

Compare the same style, height, color and panel system.

Posts and gate support

Include the supporting components identified for the design.

Layout complexity

Count corners, returns, transitions and changes in grade.

Replacement scope

Clarify removal, disposal and how the new work meets retained fencing.

Have a photo and a rough idea?

That is enough to start. Tell us what you want to change and where you are building.

Before we get started

A few good questions.

Do you offer vinyl privacy fencing?

Yes. We can discuss the style, height, layout and available product options for a vinyl privacy fence.

Can a damaged vinyl section be replaced?

Send photos and any product information you have. Repair options depend on how the fence was built and whether matching components are available.

Is there a standard price per foot?

A useful estimate needs the layout, height, selected product, gates and site conditions. Request an estimate for your actual project rather than relying on a generic per-foot number.

Can I choose a decorative top or a picket style?

Share the look you want and the purpose of the fence. Available styles depend on the selected system. Confirm the actual panel, height, color and gate options in the proposal before treating an inspiration image as the final specification.

Will a replacement panel match my existing fence?

It depends on the original product, age, dimensions and availability of components. Send identifying information and photos. A new part may differ from an aged surface, so the expected match should be discussed before a repair is approved.

How should I care for the finished fence?

Ask for the selected manufacturer’s cleaning and maintenance guidance. Confirm suitable products and methods rather than applying a generic treatment. Report a damaged component or gate issue separately instead of assuming surface cleaning will resolve it.
